It’s time to scale back on plastic pollution — think before you buy

It’s Easter weekend and with a bit of luck those of us who like the seaside will get to experience it if the weather co-operates. If, like me, you are a shellfish lover, a real treat on the way home from the beach might be a tasty plate of mussels.

A school project recently completed by my daughter’s fourth class really brought home to me how much we take those beautiful beaches and seas for granted and how research is showing that our carelessness is now making its way into the marine food chain and therefore what we eat.
