Pulitzer prize: Small voice with global impact

The internet has made our world much smaller than it once seemed. Horizons hardly exist; everything is at hand, in virtual terms at least. 

The internet has shrunk our world to the point that even the daft idea that Kim Kardashian might almost be a neighbour’s child is as plausible as any of the fantasies advanced online. Like all great change, this evolution has caused collateral damage too.

Newspapers felt the brunt of that change. Many long-established, well-regarded papers are no more.
