After nearly 12 years, Dunmanway man John Deane remains steadfast in his mission to ensure no cancer patient living locally ever has to miss a hospital appointment.

The pensioner is not alone in his heroic efforts and forms a vital link in the far-reaching chain that is Cancer Connect.
