If she was privately smarting at her party being roundly rejected as a coalition partner by Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin party leader Mary Lou McDonald wasn’t showing it.

She was all smiles as she hit the canvas in Millstreet with her party’s candidate for Cork North West, Nicole Ryan.
