Motivational speaker Nikki Bradley to be appointed to Seanad

Nikki Bradley will take the Seanad seat vacated by Regina Doherty's election to the European Parliament.
Motivational speaker Nikki Bradley is to be appointed to the Seanad by Taoiseach Simon Harris on Wednesday.
The Donegal woman is tipped to seek a Dáil seat for Fine Gael and will take the Seanad spot vacated by Regina Doherty's election to the European Parliament.
Ms Bradley is a disability advocate and cancer survivor who has worked with some of Ireland’s leading disability organisations such as Active Disability Ireland, The Disabled Drivers Association, of which she is a board member, and The No Barriers Foundation.
Ms Bradley was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma at the age of 16 and was told she would never walk again. She has been forced to use crutches since 2012 but has gone on to climb glaciers in Iceland and conquered the Four Peaks.
She had a leg amputated in 2022 but has gone on to return to hiking and became an ambassador for the VHI Women's Mini Marathon.

Earlier this year, she told the Irish Examiner that her advice to anyone facing challenges in their lives is to "Just. Keep. Going".
"It will make sense soon. I repeated this every single day for over a year and thankfully it did all make sense eventually."
