Former RTÉ broadcaster Ciaran Mullooly is to stand for Independent Ireland in the upcoming European elections, the Irish Examiner understands.

It is understood that the former Midlands correspondent for RTÉ will contest the Midlands North West constituency for the new Independent Ireland party.
