Ireland should push for teenager social media ban during EU presidency, says French children's commissioner

Ireland must use its EU presidency to press ahead with a European-wide social media ban for teenagers by the end of the year, France's high commissioner for children has said.

Sarah El Haïry has also suggested that a social media index, which would rank the safety of platforms similar to warnings found on food labels, should be rolled out to allow parents and young people to make informed decisions around the use of social media.
