Man (40s) in critical condition following Clare crash

A man is in critical condition in University Hospital Limerick (UHL) following a crash in Co Clare.

The single-vehicle collision occurred last night on the R352 at Bodyke at approximately 11.40pm.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man aged in his 40s, was brought by ambulance to UHL.

He has serious injuries, and remains in a critical condition.

The scene of the incident has been preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions remain in place as the road is currently closed.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area of the R352 at Ballynahinch, Bodyke between 11pm and midnight on Sunday are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
