Cork traffic and weather: Mixed weather as roadworks and collision cause disruption

Cork is set for another day of sunny spells and scattered showers, with temperatures reaching between 16C and 19C.
A moderate to fresh and gusty northerly breeze will add a chill to conditions, with showers expected to remain scattered throughout the day.
Tonight will bring clear spells and well-scattered showers, with temperatures falling to between 7C and 10C in light to moderate northwesterly winds.
Tomorrow, Friday, will bring more sunny spells and scattered showers to Cork, although these are expected to ease through the evening. Temperatures will reach between 16C and 18C in light to moderate northerly winds.
Motorists in Cork are being advised to take care on the roads this morning following reports of disruption in two areas.
Roadworks are causing a closure eastbound on the N40 South Ring Road between Junction 2 at Curraheen and Junction 6 at the N27 Kinsale Road.
There are also reports of a collision westbound on the N22 between Junction 3 at Ovens and Farran.
Drivers are being advised to approach both areas with caution.
The weather is expected to settle considerably over the weekend, with Met Éireann forecasting largely dry conditions across the country into early next week.
Friday night will be mainly dry with long clear spells, although a few isolated showers are possible in the north and west. Temperatures will fall to between 7C and 11C.
Saturday is expected to be mostly dry with sunny spells and just the chance of a stray light shower in the northwest. Temperatures will reach between 15C and 19C.
Mist and fog are likely to develop overnight on Saturday as winds become light, with temperatures dropping to between 7C and 11C.
Sunday will start misty and foggy in places before clearing to leave a largely dry and bright day, although isolated showers are possible. Temperatures will again reach 15C to 19C.
Another dry and clear night is forecast on Sunday, with mist and fog patches developing towards morning and temperatures falling to between 7C and 12C.
