A man in his 50s died in a single vehicle crash in Tipperary

A man in his 50s has died in a single vehicle collision in Tipperary this evening.

The accident happened on the R505 near Dundrum shortly before 5.50pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem.

The Coroner has been notified.

The road is currently closed to allow for an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Anyone who was travelling on the R505 near Dundrum between 5:30pm and 6pm is asked to contact gardaí including road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam or mobile phone recordings).
