Man dies and several taken to hospital following Limerick crash

A man has died, and several people have been taken to hospital, following a crash in Co Limerick last night.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen on Sunday, shortly before 10pm.

A driver, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) where an autopsy will take place in due course.

The coroner has been notified.

Another driver, a woman aged in her 50s, was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.

A Garda spokesperson said a female passenger, aged in her teens, was conveyed to UHL for treatment of serious injuries.

A young woman aged in her 20s and a teenager were also taken to UHL for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

"The road is closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place," said a garda spokesperson.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the L1135 near Pullagh, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick between 9:30pm and 10:00pm on Sunday 14th June 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
