Teen hospitalised following suspected stabbing in Limerick

A teenage boy was taken to the hospital following a suspected stabbing in Limerick city centre.

The assault occurred on Friday evening on Parnell Street at approximately 7pm.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and have asked for witnesses to come forward.

“A male juvenile teen was taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening,” said a garda spokesperson.

It is understood passersby came to the assistance of the teen before paramedics arrived on the scene.

Gardaí sealed off the scene to preserve it for forensic analysis.
