Diversions are affecting the Dublin Road from the Park Road junction to St Patrick’s Road.

Three males have been injured, one seriously, following a single-vehicle collision in Limerick city in the early hours of Saturday.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly before 5am after a van was involved in a crash on the R445 Dublin Road.

The three occupants of the vehicle, all male and aged in their mid-teens, late teens and 20s, were taken to University Hospital Limerick for medical assessment. The man in his 20s sustained serious injuries.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local traffic diversions currently in place.

Diversions are affecting the Dublin Road from the Park Road junction to St Patrick’s Road.

Gardaí based at Henry Street are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, and who were travelling on the Dublin Road at the time are asked to make this material available to investigators.
