Woman, 60s, dies following single-car crash in Co Clare
The woman in her 60s, who was the driver, was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries.
A woman in her 60s has died after a single-car crash in Co Clare on Friday left her with serious injuries.
The incident happened on the R458 near Newmarket on Fergus on March 27. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 11pm.
The woman, who was the driver of the car, was taken to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment. She was prounounced dead on Tuesday evening.
The Coroner has been notified, and an autopsy is due to be carried out.Â
The passenger of the car, a woman aged in her 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.Â
A technical examination of the scene was carried out by gardaĂ who are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R458, near Rathfollan, Newmarket on Fergus, Co Clare, on Friday, March 27 2026 between 10.30pm and 11.00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaĂ.
