Teenager stabbed at 18th birthday party near Cork City

A teenager is in hospital after being stabbed at a birthday party in Cork City.
He was attacked after an argument broke out among teenagers at an 18th birthday party in the Blackrock area of the city.
The teenager, who is in his late teens, was treated for his injuries at the scene at around 1am by paramedics who then rushed him to Cork University Hospital.
His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Another teenager has been arrested by gardaĂ and he is currently being detained for questioning.
Statements have been taken from people at the party, and footage from CCTV cameras in the area is being collected by gardaĂ.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaà and emergency services attended the scene of a serious assault in Blackrock, Cork city on Sunday shortly before 1am.
“An adult male in his late teens was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries.
“A male juvenile was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in Cork city under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
“Investigations are ongoing.”Â
