A man was taken to the hospital in Limerick following a day-time stabbing on the southside of the city.

The incident occurred on Sunday shortly after 10.30am at a residence in the John Carew Park area.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of the incident.

A Garda spokesperson said: “A man, aged in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. 

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.” 

The scene was preserved for examination and inquiries are ongoing.
