Boy missing in Cork located safe and well

When last seen, Szymon Zajko was wearing a grey school uniform, a grey North Face jacket and carrying a black backpack.

Update Tuesday, January 6: Szymon Zajko, who was reported missing on Monday, has been located safe and well. 

Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance. 

Monday, January 5: Gardaí have appealed for help to locate a teenager missing from Midleton, Co Cork.

Szymon Zajko, aged 14, was reported missing from his home in Midleton on Monday.

According to a Garda spokesperson, he was last seen in the Ballinacurra area of Midleton at 8.30am Monday.

"Szymon is described as being approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height, of slim build with short brown hair and brown eyes," said the spokesperson.

When last seen, he was wearing a grey school uniform, a grey North Face jacket and carrying a black backpack.

Gardaí and Szymon’s parents are concerned for his wellbeing.
