A man in his 20s has been taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle e-scooter crash in the city on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened on Skehard Road, between the junctions of Silverdale Drive and Parkhill, as the man was travelling in the direction of Mahon at around 3.30pm to 3.45pm.

Gardaí said his injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening. A technical examination of the scene has since been carried out.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and for any road users with camera or dash-cam footage who were in the area between 3.15pm and 3.45pm to come forward.
