Winning €250m EuroMillions ticket sold in Munster
In total, over 92,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.
The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning EuroMillions ticket was sold in Munster.
A spokesperson said it was sold in a shop.
The winning numbers are 13, 22, 23, 44, 49. The two Lucky Stars are 3 and 5.
Additionally, one lucky EuroMillions Plus player in Co Wicklow secured the top prize of €500,000 after successfully matching all five winning numbers.
The numbers for last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw were: 11, 19, 30, 39 and 50.
National Lottery CEO Cian Murphy has urged players to check their tickets very carefully to see if they have scooped the jackpot.
He added that they will "reveal the winning location as soon as we can".
"The details surrounding the winning ticket will be revealed over the coming days," Mr Murphy said.
"With such a big win, we have procedures to follow, but we will reveal the winning location as soon as we can.
"While this is a massive win, it can come as a shock to a winner and we advise them to stay calm, get independent legal and financial advice and contact us as soon as they can," he added.
On Wednesday, the winner was advised to "have a cup of tea and stay calm".
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan said this winning ticket was "bought in a retail store somewhere in Ireland".
"This is a massive win for anyone. It's an eye-watering prize, but certainly life-changing and no doubt a huge shock to the winner," Ms Monaghan said, speaking on RTÉ Radio 1.
"But if at all possible, stay calm. I know that might be easier said than done. Have a cup of tea and just let it sink in. Players do have 90 days to claim the prize, so I'm hoping that they will make contact before then.
“It's just a matter of letting the win sink in. Most importantly, letting us know that you have the winning ticket. And even just getting financial and legal advice, you know, it is a lot of money, so you want to make sure that you're working it in its best way.”
In total, over 92,000 players in Ireland won prizes in Tuesday night's draws, including a Wexford punter who won €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw. The winning numbers in that draw were 11, 19, 30, 39, and 50.
According to the lottery, the odds of securing all five numbers as well as the two lucky stars in the EuroMillions draw are 1 in 139,838,160.
Tuesday night's winner is the 18th winner of the EuroMillions in Ireland and will now take on the title of Ireland's biggest ever Lotto winner, a title previously held by a family syndicate from Naul in Co Dublin in 2019, who won €175.4m.
Ireland's first EuroMillions winner was Dolores McNamara from Limerick, who won €115m in July 2005.
