Cork dog poo map story

When it comes to dog poo littering the streets of Cork city, patrolling gardaí have "Taken" about as much as they can handle.

In a message on social media, they have not only said they have a lead on where the worst offenders' mutts are dropping their drawers but also vowed to go all Liam Neeson on the lazy owners.

The Facebook post is accompanied by a map.

"Pictured below is not the map of a mine field, but of dog litter in a small part of Cork city on Douglas Street, Mount Sion Road and Barrack Street," it says.

"It is unhealthy, unpleasant, disrespectful and illegal. Always remember to Pick It, Bag It, Bin It."

The message adds that those patrolling — and presumably having to tread very carefully as they do so — have a clear message to share.

"I don’t know who you are. I don’t know why you are doing this. But I do know that I have a particular set of skills that could change your conviction record. Skills that I acquired over a long career. If you change your attitude and 'Pick It, Bag It, Bin It' this will be end of it, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will FINE you, which can be up to €3000."

They then add: "On a more serious note, we ask you to be respectful of your surroundings."
