Jason Corbett’s daughter releases new memoir on father's murder
Sarah Corbett Lynch
The daughter of Jason Corbett, the Limerick man who was killed by his American wife and father-in-law, has released a memoir this Thursday.
In her book, titled , Sarah Corbett Lynch shares her side of the story, in which she says the truth was “twisted.”
Her father, Jason Corbett, was killed almost ten years ago at his home in North Carolina by Molly and Tom Martens.
Aged eight at the time, Ms Corbett Lynch was asleep upstairs in the family home the night her father was murdered. That night, she and her brother were left orphaned, as their mother, Mags Fitzpatrick Corbett, had died in 2006.

In November 2023, Molly and Tom Martens saw a second-degree murder conviction overturned after an appeal. They then accepted a plea deal of voluntary manslaughter.
Ms Corbett Lynch says the absence of a second trial took away her chance to take the stand and give evidence against the Martens.
As her voice was not heard at the time, her memoir, which has been described as “powerful,” allows her to speak "her" truth, she said.
Published by Hachette Books Ireland, the book delves into what she remembers from the events before and after the night that turned her world upside down.
