Family of missing Limerick man 'fraught with anxiety' after more than six weeks

The family of Luke Price have told how they are "fraught with anxiety" as the young man has been missing from Limerick for six weeks.

Luke Price, aged 27, was reported missing from his home in Mountkennet. He was last seen on Tuesday, January 14, at around 9 pm on O’Curry Street.

His family and friends have been appealing for help on social media and have organized search parties.

His mother, Pauline, and his partner, Danny, appeared on RTÉ’s Crimecall this week.

“He is a lovely, soft, softly spoken gentle person, with an amazing but slightly bent sense of humour. He's just, he's lovely,” said his mother.

Since his disappearance, his loved ones have been “fraught with anxiety”.

“High emotions when we've possibly heard somebody may have seen him somewhere and then they stark reality when they turn into nothing apart from smoke and mirrors, you can feel quite low,” said Pauline.

She added: “Waiting for him to walk in the door, expecting to hear him making some silly remark in a silly voice, giving out to the dogs coming in the front door, and yet it’s not coming, it's just been exhausting.” 

The family previously said that Luke poses no risk to others but “is a risk to himself and has been for a while.”

Luke is described as being approximately 5'10" in height, with a slim build, light brown hair, and blue eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a black coat, a pink T-shirt, blue jeans, and black ankle boots.

It is understood that he also answers to his middle name, Gabriel.

Since his disappearance, people in Limerick have been volunteering to look for him and posters have been put up across the city.

On a Facebook group with over 1,600 members, appeals for help have been posted as Limerick citizens share the areas they have checked, while looking for him.

Gardaí and Luke's family are concerned for his wellbeing.
