Man charged in connection with death of woman in Cork

Stella Nnamdi, 82, who was originally from Nigeria died in Cork University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

A man has been charged in connection with the death of an 82-year-old woman who died two days after an alleged assault at her home in Carrigaline, Co Cork.

Stella Nnamdi who was originally from Nigeria, died in Cork University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

A man in his 30s was arrested in relation to her death following the incident. 

He has since been charged and is due to appear before Cork District Court on Thursday morning. 

"Investigations ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
