Mental Health Commission find compliance issues at Cork care centre

The Mental Health Commission has published ten reports, including a report on Cois Dalua in Newmarket, Cork, and Deer Lodge in Killarney, Co Kerry. Picture: Stephen Collins/Collins

A Cork mental health centre had peeling paint, broken radiator covers, cobwebs, dirt, and a damaged fire strip on a fire door when inspected by the Mental Health Commission.

The St Catherine’s Ward at St Finbarr’s Hospital also has small bedrooms which lack storage space, and chairs in the evening lounge which were stained and dusty.
