Blaze under control after crews battle major fire at commercial unit in Cork

A major fire broke out overnight in a commercial building on Fitz’s Boreen, just off Commons Road in Blackpool, Cork.

The Cork City Fire Brigade received the call around 2am and quickly responded with eight fire units, including two aerial platforms, to fight the flames.

The fire crews worked through the early morning to bring it under control.

While the fire is now under control, fire crews will stay on-site throughout the day to dampen down hot spots and make sure the area is safe. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
