Weekend washout? Status yellow rain warning issued for seven counties

The warning is due to come into effect at midnight on Sunday and remain in place for 24 hours

A status yellow weather warning has been issued for seven counties as Met Éireann says persistent heavy rain is expected on Sunday. 

The warning, which will effect, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wicklow and Wexford, will be in place all day on Sunday, from midnight that day until midnight on Monday.
