The man arrested in connection with the death of 89-year-old Josephine "Josie" Ray in Nenagh has been released without charge.

The man, aged in his 50s, was been detained following the discovery of Ms Ray's body at a house in St Joseph's Park on Sunday, August 4.

Gardaí say the man was released earlier today.

Officials have confirmed that a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to determine whether any further action will be taken.

Despite the man's release, the investigation remains active, with Gardaí continuing to examine all aspects of the case.

A woman, also in her 50s, is still in garda custody as inquiries continue.
