Two charged in connection with Cork City robbery and assault

A man and woman have been arrested in connection with a robbery and assault in Cork City on Tuesday.
The incident occurred after a group of French students and their teacher left a restaurant on St Patrick's Street at around 10pm on Tuesday.
Gardaí at Anglesea Street received a report of an incident and a search was carried out.
The man and woman, both in their 20s, were arrested in relation to this matter and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork.
They have since been charged and are due to appear before Cork City District Court this morning.
