It is also believed gardaí in Waterford are investigating an alleged assault at the game during the incident. which broke out in the second half.

An U15 hurling championship match in Waterford was abandoned following a brawl involving players, mentors and supporters.

Waterford GAA and Bord na nÓg are now expected to investigate the Division 1 championship match involving Ballygunner and Na Risigh in Mount Sion on Monday evening.
