Four men arrested and €300k worth of cannabis seized in Limerick

The arrests and seizure happened following a search operation in the Clare Street area of the city by the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, with support from the Armed Support Unit.

Four men have been arrested following the seizure of €300,000 worth of cannabis in Limerick city on Friday morning.

The arrests and seizure happened following a search operation in the Clare Street area of the city by the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, with support from the Armed Support Unit.

The men - aged in their 30s, 40s and 60s – were arrested at the scene, and remain detained at various Garda Stations in the region under the Drug Trafficking Act, gardaí said.

In addition to 30 cannabis plants and about 15 kilos of the drug, the searches also turned up cash worth roughly €10,000.

A spokesperson said the drugs would be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
