Young driver who died in Cork crash named locally

The Cork man who is one of two victims of crashes in Cork and Kerry over the last 24 hours has been named locally.
Jake Mulcahy (19) from Killeagh died following a collision between a car and an articulated lorry on the N25 at Ballyedekin near Midleton shortly before 7.30am.
He was the driver of the car and his body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital.
No other injuries were reported as a result of this collision.
Gardaí said the N25 Midleton to Castlemartyr road is currently closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. Anyone with information or who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to contact Midleton Garda Station on 021 462 1550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
In Kerry, a man in his 20s was killed in a two-car collision that also saw three others injured.
The collision occurred on the N69 at Banemore, Listowel at around 9pm on Wednesday.
A passenger, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Kerry where he was pronounced deceased on Thursday.
Three other individuals were taken to hospital for assessment and treatment. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the Kerry collision to come forward. Road users on the N69 between Tralee and Listowel yesterday evening with camera footage, including dash cam, are requested to provide it to investigators.

The deaths bring the total number of people to die on Irish roads this year up to 63, which is 15 more than for the same period last year.
