Woman, 30s, dies and four hospitalised following two-vehicle collision in Tipperary
The crash happened on the N24 at Kilsheelan at approximately 10pm.
A woman in her 30s has died and four others have been hospitalised after two cars collided in Co Tipperary, on Friday night.
The incident occurred on the N24 at Kilsheelan at approximately 10pm.
The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was removed from the scene to Waterford University Hospital, where a post mortem examination is due to take place.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was taken to Waterford University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed be non-life-threatening.
The driver and a passenger of the second car, both males aged in their late teens were brought to Waterford University Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are also believed be non-life-threatening.
A female passenger of the second car, in her late teens, was also taken to Tipperary University Hospital where her injuries are believed be non-life-threatening.
No other injuries have been reported.
The road remains closed at this time while local traffic diversions are in place.Â
The scene is currently preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
This latest incident brings the number of deaths lost on Irish roads so far in 2024 up to 56.
Gardaà are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and were travelling in the area of the N24 at Kilsheelan, Co. Tipperary, on Friday 29th March 2024, between 9.30pm and 10.10pm are asked to make this footage available to GardaÃ.
