The Midwest region covering Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary appears to be under particular pressure, with UHL extremely busy.

University Hospital Limerick (UHL) is facing high levels of overcrowding again, with 143 patients without a bed on Monday, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

In all, 539 patients are without a bed in hospitals around the country, the nurses found, including 17 children.
