A pedestrian who died from injuries he sustained after being hit by a car at Upper Cork Hill in Youghal, Co Cork on Thursday has been named locally as Kevin Kenneally.

Mr Kenneally was one of the founding members of Youghal United AFC in 1985. The club paid tribute to Mr Kenneally in a statement on social media. They said that the 68 year old had "done so much for football" in the town.
