Search for man missing from Tipperary stood down

Update December 1, 9.40am: The search for Matthew Shanahan, who had been missing since November, has been stood down following the discovery of a body. 

Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance.

November 18: Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a man who is missing from his home in Tipperary.

Matthew Shanahan, 69, was last seen at his home in Carrick-On-Suir, Co Tipperary on Wednesday, November 15.

He is described as being approximately 5’5 in height with a slim build and grey hair. It’s believed Matthew may be wearing a greyish coloured fisherman’s hat.

Gardaí and Matthew’s family are concerned for his well-being.
