Tina Satchwell

Family and friends of Tina Satchwell will gather in her hometown in Fermoy, Cork, to remember her life at a candlelight vigil.

The remains of Ms Satchwell were discovered at her home in Youghal last week, six years after she was first reported missing in 2017.

Her husband, Richard Satchwell, appeared in court on Saturday, charged with her murder.

Ms Satchwell will be remembered at a special vigil, organised by the local community, at 6pm on Monday evening at Fermoy Town Park.

A vigil in Youghal heard from the family of Tina Satchwell about how she "put a smile on everyone's face" with her positive outlook on life.

Hymns were sung and candles were lit in her honour as dozens of people of all ages gathered on Saturday.

Those who came spoke about Tina and how she was one of their own, just as she was in Fermoy.

They spoke of a woman with a radiant smile, and how Youghal as a community will always rally to support those that they loved.
