A nationwide status yellow high temperature warning is currently in place with temperatures in excess of 27C expected in many areas.

The warning came into effect at 8am on Thursday and will remain in place until 8am on Saturday. Met Éireann has said "very warm and humid weather" is expected on Thursday and Friday.
