Investigation launched following discovery of body in North Kerry

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body at a premises in Listowel, Co Kerry on Friday morning.

The discovery of the body, a male in his 40s, was made at approximately 7:30am on Church Street in the town.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the morgue at University Hospital Kerry, where a post-mortem is due to take place.

"Investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokesperson said.
