A former worker in a Co Kerry builders’ yard who was fired after being racially abusive to a colleague has been awarded over €10,000 after a ruling that his dismissal was unfair.

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Richard Boyle & Sons in Co Kerry, to pay a total of €10,340 in compensation to its former employee, Gerard Maunsell.
