Young woman escapes collision on Cork motorway uninjured

Gardaí from Fermoy District attended the scene with Mitchelstown and Fermoy units of Cork County Fire Service and the Community Air Ambulance. As luck would have it, three doctors arrived onto the scene of the collision, so the lone occupant of the car received the best help anyone could wish for.

A woman was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) as a precaution after a single-car crash on the M8 motorway between Fermoy and Mitchelstown.

There were fears initially for the woman's condition as preliminary reports suggested the woman, thought to be in her 20s, hit the motorway barrier at high speed.
