A €25,500 stash of cannabis and cocaine was seized by gardaí in Ringaskiddy and on Friday a man accused of dealing these drugs was refused bail at Cork District Court.

Sergeant Gary Brennan objected to bail being granted to Jordan Warner, of Ashgrove Lawn, Carrigaline, Cork, at Cork District Court.

Judge David Waters said, on hearing the value of the suspected drugs, it was not going to be a matter for district court jurisdiction.

The judge said after hearing the evidence that on the basis of the valuations given by gardaí — cannabis worth €22,000 and cocaine with a street value of €3,500 — it was being alleged “this is serious dealing, this is serious involvement in the drugs business. I would have real concerns he would continue his involvement in the drugs trade.”

On that basis, Judge Waters refused bail and remanded the accused in custody until October 15.

Sergeant Gearóid Davis said directions would be sought from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The charges against Jordan Warner refer to possession of cannabis and cocaine at Carthage Place, Ringaskiddy, Cork, on Wednesday, October 7, and having both drugs for the purpose of sale or supply.
