Man left with serious injuries after Meath assault
A man in his 40s has since been arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained at a garda station in Co Meath
Gardaí are investigating after a man suffered serious injuries following an assault in Co Meath.
Emergency services were called to the scene of an incident at a house in the village of Ballivor on Monday at 7am.
A man in his 20s was taken to Mullingar Hospital after suffering injuries and was then transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
A man in his 40s has since been arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained at a garda station in Co Meath under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A garda spokesperson said a full technical examination has taken place at the scene, and a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation from the incident room at Trim Garda Station.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also appealing to anyone with camera footage—including motorists with dashcam footage from the area at the time—to contact them.
