€280k worth of cannabis found in van stopped on M7 in Tipperary

Gardaí found more than €280,000 worth of cannabis after responding to reports of a van stopped on the M7 in Tipperary on Thursday.

A garda spokesperson said the vehicle, which was in the Birdhill area, was searched.

The cannabis and €20,000 in cash was found hidden in it. A small quantity of cocaine was also seized.

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to a garda station in Co Tipperary where he is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
