Teenager arrested on suspicion of murder of 17-year-old Ukrainian boy in Dublin

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of another teen at an emergency residential premises in north Dublin on Wednesday morning.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the premises in Donaghmede shortly after 11am, where a seriously injured teenage boy was discovered.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Embassy of Ukraine to Ireland later named the boy as 17-year-old Vadym Davydenko.
A second male teenager was taken to a Dublin hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman also received medical attention at the scene and was later taken to hospital for further treatment.
On Friday morning, gardaí confirmed that the male juvenile receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
A Garda spokesperson told the
that an autopsy on the body of the deceased has been completed, and its results are “not being released for operational reasons.”"An Garda Síochána continues to investigate all the circumstances of a fatal incident that occurred on Wednesday, 15th October 2025 at an emergency residential premises in Donaghmede, Dublin 13.
"The scene remains preserved at this time and is subject to examination."
