Gardaí seized €164,000 worth of cannabis from a residence in Wexford

Gardaí have arrested two men, one in his 20s and another in his 40s, in Co Wexford as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

According to a garda spokesperson, officers searched a house in Oylegate under warrant on Tuesday afternoon.

There, they discovered a sophisticated grow house and seized 130 suspected cannabis plants.

The plants had an estimated value of approximately €164,000, pending forensic analysis.

The spokesperson confirmed that the man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is being detained at a garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In a follow-up search, Gardaí recovered items of evidential value and a sum of cash from a house in Wexford town and arrested a man in his 40s.

He is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in the Eastern Region.

The seized drugs will undergo forensic analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
