Gardaí have seized more than €236,000 in cash and nine passports during a major search operation in Lucan, Co Dublin.

The operation forms part of an investigation into large-scale cash withdrawals from ATMs across Dublin and Cork.

During the Lucan search, gardaí also seized 660 Polish zloty, five driving licences, and three identity cards.

In total, €322,855 in cash has been seized during the investigation.

A man in his 30s, arrested on September 13, remains in garda custody under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

A woman in her mid-30s, also arrested on September 13, has been released without charge.

Investigations are ongoing.
