Tasers for gardaí and improved responses to victims among new Garda Commissioner's priorities

Two of Justin Kelly's seven priorities for the force also included expanding high-visibility policing to cities and improving policing for rural Ireland

On his second day in the job, the new garda commissioner set out his priorities to the national media – and covered a lot of bases.

First of his “key areas” is to improve the policing service to victims of crime – in particular to victims of domestic violence.
