It is alleged accused stole €247 worth of items in Tesco, Paul Street, and €238 worth of items in Tesco, Mahon Point.

A 45-year-old man was refused bail when he was charged with seven counts of shoplifting at various stores around Cork City, allegedly carried out “to pay for his heroin and crack cocaine addiction”.

Sergeant John Dineen said on Friday there was an objection to bail being granted to Edward Daly, of 8 Inchera Lawn, Mahon, Cork, at Cork District Court.
