A garda intervened when a young man punched another man to the ground in Cobh but despite the officer’s identification of himself the attacker then kicked the victim five times in the head.

Garda Lorraine Manning gave this evidence at Cork Circuit Criminal Court when 25-year-old Jake Kelly-Wilmot of College Drive, College Manor, Cobh, County Cork, appeared for sentencing.
