Vulnerable man in Cork avoids prison sentence over child sexual abuse images

The man was given an 18-month suspended sentence at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

A ‘vulnerable’ young man accessed adult pornography until “things went towards the horrible” and he was caught with 17 images of child pornography for which he was prosecuted.

At Cork Circuit Criminal Court on Thursday, Dara Somers, aged 23, of Reenmeen East, Glengarriff, Co Cork, was sentenced to an 18 months suspended term by Judge Helen Boyle.
